MVAventures consists of a network of seasoned and young professionals in key areas of expertise, headed by Mark van Andel and Tomas Kastner.

In 2009, Mark started MVAventures with the aim to help companies take full advantage of the opportunities that arise at the intersection of supply chain, digital technology and sustainability.

Through the years, Mark has established a network of professionals in different areas of expertise, who share the same passion for innovation, supply chain and sustainability. Most recently, Thomas Kastner entered the team as managing partner and is based in Germany.

Mark van Andel

Mark van Andel is a strong entrepreneurial professional, with over 30 years of experience in delivering significant value in a variety of interim and permanent positions within various countries and cultures.

Mark holds a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization in Logistics. His career started in the port of Rotterdam at HES international, and led him to senior positions within UPS, Ryder System, Imperial and Hutchison Ports ECT.

Mark is a creative thinker, with proven success in the areas of strategy, M&A, post merger integration, business development, sales, project management, program management, operations, supply chain, (digital) transformation management and turn around management.

Mark has extensive experience in and knowledge of the automotive, high tech, telecommunications, chemical, healthcare, pharma, consumer goods, e-commerce, offshore, maritime and logistics industries. He has held several supervisory and advisory board positions at publicly traded companies, in the Netherlands and abroad.

His style is passionate, energetic, customer focused, visionary, analytical, pragmatic, result driven and people centric.

Thomas Kastner

Thomas Kastner was born on December 28, 1963 in Landau, studied at the University of Mannheim Business Administration with an emphasis in International Management (Prof. Dr. Perlitz) and organization (Prof. Dr. Kieser). 

Thomas recently worked in operational management as senior vice president of the business unit “Semi-Finished Products” of the Business Unit Polycarbonates at Bayer MaterialScience AG. Previously, he held various management positions in administrative areas of the Bayer Group. His professional development began in the strategic management consultancy Roland Berger & Partners Strategy Consultants and later at Accenture. 

Thomas has over 25 years experience in operational and general management, of which 10 years abroad. With more than 7 years full P+L responsibility and 14 years consulting experience, he brings a wealth of experience in the automotive, chemicals / plastics, machinery, electronics and building materials industry. Thomas has held several positions in supervisory and advisory boards of publicly traded companies.

Thomas is an authentic, straight, open and assertive professional, always looking for solutions and results for his clients.
